NIZHONI
NIZHONI
THE 4-1-1
Full Name: Nizhoni
Nickname(s): Ni (pronounced Nee)
Age: Six years
Gender: Stallion
Species: Equine
Breed(s): Appaloosa
Other: Has a feather stuck in his mane (his owner was going for the Rain [you know, from Spirit?] look), and a thin leather strip around his neck for steering without reins
BODY,
The first thing you are hit with when you see him is he is definitely an appaloosa. He is a snow white, dotted with bay spots that concentrate around his feet and face. His mane and tail are a mixture of white and black, giving a splotched grayish feel. He is powerfully built, with excellent confirmation and well developed muscles. He stands at a neat fifteen three hands, not too tall, but giving him the advantage of speed and agility over strength and power. He still is fairly powerful, and extremely accurate, but he doesn't have much brute strength. He is an average weight for his size, not given to hidden power.
MIND,

Ni is... well, a typical stallion. He's a bit hot headed, and is very willful. He can practice restraint around mares, but as to if he will, you never know. Once you get past this rather brutal exterior, he can be loving and truly does care for those he lets close. He is prone to arrogance, but is smart enough to know when he's bested. He does play favorites, which is probably the reason he doesn't have many mare friends. He's been raised around humans, and loves them because they have treats. He doesn't mind taking them around on his back, and will be quite amiable while being ridden. He has a very strong work ethic, although he is prone to grazing or socializing while standing still.
SOUL.

Ni was born to an Indian mare, one actively ridden in a place for tourists to come around and see what a real Indian camp would look like. He was stared at by many eyes, and got used to constant human and horse interaction. He roamed with a herd of Indian horses, but was regularly handled and trained to stay around, and submit to human hands. Long admired for his beauty, he was left intact. His owner, an elderly Indian, named him Nizhoni for his beauty, and quickly began breaking him when he was old enough. He was punished severely for things like bucking and being generally willful, and he grew to understand what the human wanted. He became a willing mount, with only rare issues while being ridden. He knew the consequences. With the new government interest, riding around on a horse in only leggings was no longer accepted, despite the fact that it was history. His owner was given repeated warnings, beatings even, but he refused to change. He was respected in his community, so he couldn't be made to disappear. But his prized stallion could. During the night, Ni was taken and shipped off, and arrived at the island relatively unharmed. He hasn't been wandering around long, but he's been sticking near the human areas just to be safe.
