HEARTLY A HUSBAND
THE 4-1-1
Full Name: Heartly A Husband
Nickname(s): Hart
Age: 6
Gender: Gelding
Species: Equine
Breed(s): Thoroughbred
Other:
BODY,
Hart is a bright beautiful Bay colored horse. He has a sock on his right hind and a small star on his forehead (which is slightly heart shaped). As a youngster, he looked gangly because he has so much leg, but he finally matured into himself. Now at his full height, he stands 17 hands almost exactly on the dot. He's filled out with age and is thicker built than many Thoroughbreds, especially for one as tall and leggy as he is.
MIND,

Hart literally has the heart of a racer. He loves to run, and he is the type of horse that feeds off the excitement of the crowd. He doesn't like being alone (at all), and came to enjoy his papered life as a stakes level racer. The notion of being in the wild and getting dirty just isn't for him. He loves being brushed, and even enjoys being ridden. Of course, that doesn't stop him from throwing out a buck now and then, but as a whole he's a pretty good-natured mount. He loves treats, especially carrots, though anything will do. Now that he's come to Gershom, he's become depressed and sullen, and doesn't know what to do with himself. He feels completely lost without being at a track, and doesn't know how to deal with 'wild' horses or other animals.
SOUL.

Heartly A Husband was born on a prominent Thoroughbred breeding farm in the heart of bluegrass country. His sire is the noteable A.P. Valentine, and his dam relates to Blushing Groom - hence his name. Of course, it also partially came from his somewhat heart shaped star, but that's another story.
He was sold at a yearling auction for a nice sum and began his career under the training of one of the top trainers of the day. He was a little too frisky and rambunctious and couldn't be controlled in races, so after only 2 starts as a two year old, he found himself gelded. After a couple months recovery, he went back into training with a much more docile personality. Finally, he was able to focus on the task he was given, and he began to excel at races.
He went on to win several graded stakes races as a three year old, and made an even bigger name for himself at 4. He was lightly raced at 5, and having just recently turned 6 they decided he was getting to be too much of an age risk to keep racing. They tried using him as a ghost horse for workouts, but he flat out refused to let the other horses win, throwing a couple riders in the process. After that, they really didn't feel like trying to find a suitable retirement home for him where he could be trained for something else, and simply decided to ship him off to the island.
