Love was just a word, a phrase among the many things taught to the young. Breathed effortlessly into their tiny harks, eager to learn what happened to the young princess locked away in some cave. Their parents tell the stories time and time again filling their young minds with the good things but never the bad. They experimented, colts learning fillies had cooties and the fillies just played along chasing them around and around until they touched. In which a crush developed and then something more, until the bad happened the thing no young filly wanted to go through. Left in the dust, her dreams shattered and crushed. Her mother comforts her, telling her there’s more to life and more than just him. She moves on even though she finds it hard to do, they come and they go until finally she finds the one. She shook her crown and stared off into the dark lands; Luna’s light giving her a ghostly glow as she stared off at nothing. The breeze tossed her mane above her crown, banner wrapping around her pillars. The breath had always been a comfort to her, it whispered softly to her, as it twirled and swirled above her, creating a beautiful masterpiece. She hummed softly with it, closing her orbs and swaying just slightly. She hadn’t a care in the world at the moment, the memories and the word that plagued every one’s mind forgotten just for a time. Her forelock danced off to the side, giving way to the true beauty underneath. The thing she was so blind to or didn’t want to recognized, a sigh slipped pass her kissers as those stunning brown orbs opened in a flash. She snorted and fixed her forelock, letting it fall back into place. Fore pillar was placed forward and her nape lowered, crown placed upon her pillar as she rubbed a spot in which had just been bit by a blood sucker. Raising her crown she noted the moon had become slightly dim and looked up to see a cloud rolling across it. She went back to staring off over the land, her banner still wrapped around her pillars and her tresses still danced. A crack of thunder sounded off in the distance and the sky lit up. She took this as her cue to move and so she did. Picking up a fast trot and finally a canter, she moved with ease under the cover of dark. The occasional rumbles and lighting of the sky, scaring her just a bit more and making her want to move all that faster. She sought comfort in a small cave and turned around, just in time to see the storm engulf the land. She shivered and pressed herself against the back wall, banner tucking underneath her as she did so. Amria tossed her crown and called out desperately, she didn’t want to be alone anymore, she was scared and not liking that simple fact. She settled just slightly and stared out, the terrified look haunting her orbs.

A streak of golden hide slunk through the shadows. It was more of a pale hued blotch that stood out against the growing darkness of the skies and the darkness of his legs and tresses. All of his raven points blended in with the surroundings, making the traces of gold seem all the more surreal. He moved down the slope of the mountain at a steady pace. A canter, not quite a full out gallop. Bending and swaying around the trees and underbrush. Occasionally slipping for a fraction of a second on loose rocky earth.
He had ventured up the mountain earlier in the day, and now that darkness loomed ahead he had decided it was best he move. As he continued his descent, claps of thunder boomed in the distance, sending a chill down his spine. Now, the eerie nighttime quickly approaching woudln't be his only combat. It looked like a storm was quickly moving in, rolling across the landscape tauntingly.
Dark pillars picked up speed, as the slope of the mountain became more gradual his travel became easier. Soon, the steepness fell into a flat plateau, which continued on for some distance before dropping off into sharp cliffs. If one wasn't careful along the edges, they'd find themselves plunging into the deep ocean waters below.
He stopped on the flat terrain and pricked his harks to and fro. The thunder claps grew louder and a few brilliant flashes of lighting raced across the sky. Soon the storm would be upon him. He shivered again, partially from the chilly wind the storm was bringing in, aand partially just from nerves. The wind whistled through the sky, dancing like razors across his skin. His head lowered in an attempt to avoid the wind, and he turned so that he was walking away from it. It pulled at his ebony tresses, sending them into tangled ribbons that streamed around him.
As another flash of lighting crossed the sky, he picked his pace to a brisk trot. His hooves were as careful as possible, knowing that the flat plateau grew rocky in some places which could be slippery. Now wouldn't be a good time to fall and end up hurt.
The buckskin stallion heard the gentle sound of rain sprinkles, and then within moments he found himself fully engulfed in a downpour of rain. It hit his hide forefully, and it only took a few drops before he felt completely drenched. He sighed in defeat, and realized he could travel no farther before it became hazardous. Buttery pools peered out across the dimly lit land, taking note of a small cave in the mountain close by.
His legs flew into a gallop as the rain continued to pelt his hide. It seemed to be spurring him on. Only a few strides later he darted quickly into the cave, panting lightly but still shivering with the chill of being wet. He spun around to look back outside behind him, and as he did so he felt himself brush something. He jumped backwards, and as his eyes adjusted to the dark light, he realized he was staring at another horse. Oh gosh, I'm sorry! I didn't know you were in here. He backed up a few paces, so that he was half in and half out of the small cave. His head was inside where it was dry, but his hips were once again being plummeted with heavy raindrops.

She was just finally beginning to relax, not nearly as afraid of the storm, as it roared on outside. Though at some point she had dozen off and was shortly after woken up by a loud bang. Which made her jump just slightly; she had to focus on catching her breath and slowing her racing heart as she took a quick sweep of the land outside the cave, which was currently being hit with heavy raindrops. She shifted her weight to the right and then to the left, ultimately deciding to cock her right hind and wait patiently for the storm to move on, so she could go out and run. She sighed softly and crinkled her kissers up in disgust; the rain always seemed to ruin all the fun. She had simply been mind her own business when the storm all the sudden set in. Amira closed her orbs and settled in what seemed was going to be awhile; she might as well as stay here for the night. With a deep breath she let it go and flicked her banner across her flanks and dozed lightly. She hadn’t nearly been asleep that long when she felt something brush her ivory frame. Orbs flashed open and a scream left her kissers, until her orbs adjusted and she saw another horse. She lowered her crown and focused on her breathing for a moment before looking up at him slightly, its really no problem, just a little fright nothing more, im Amria and you are? Her honey toned lyrics poured forth, reaching out to his harks. She adjusted herself slightly and moved over so he could fit in, you really don’t have to stand half out and half in, you can fit in here. She smiled and laughed softly to herself and looked at him, through her forelock. He was a handsome thing, buckskin in color with the typical black points. She noted the scars, but those just added more character to him. She waited quietly for him to speak.

The mare seemed frightened for a moment, and as his eyes grew more adjusted to the extreme darkness of the small cave, her pale grey coat made her stand out in stark contrast with the surroundings. His panting subsided as he stood there, after only a few seconds, for he was in good shape and the run wouldn't wear him down long at all. He noticed her looking up at him as she began to speak. Her words were sweet sounding to his harks, like a familiar melody he'd long forgotten.
A grin played across his lips as she introduced herself and questioned as to his own name. His ears pricked forward in interest as he gazed out through pools of a warm buttery hue. Nice to meet you Amria. He let her name drip from his tongue a little slower than the rest of his words, getting a feel so he would commit it to memory. I'm Nekoda, call me Koda if you want, or whatever. I'll answer to just about anything.

He chuckled at his words and then nodded as she spoke again. Well, as long as I'm not intruding... He studied her carefully as he took two small steps, bringing himself entirely in the small space, but this time not close enough to run into her. His golden hide rippled faintly as a shiver crept over him again and he dipped his head to her in thanks. That rain is awful cold, thanks for letting me join you. Looking at her, he didn't sense that she was overly concerned by his presence, but he still didn't want to do anything to startle her. If anything she did seemed worried by him, he'd leave and find somewhere else to stay. Kind of a wimp, and not the kind of stallion who ever intentionally harmed anyone, he was more worried about her safety from the storm than his own. Dark hooves scraped across the earth as he turned his position so that he too could see outside. He was standing not quite parallel to her, so that he could still easily see her and converse, but also keep a watchful eye on the vicious storm. His eyes squinted as he stared out into the world beyond their small encompass, barely able to see anything other than the flood of rain coming down from the clouds. The wind gusted, whistling and whirring as it wove around the rocky terrain of the cliffs. He sighed, never the type to enjoy storms, knowing he could very well be stuck for the whole night. Not that being stuck here is a bad thing, he reminded himself. The mare seemed friendly so far, and from what he could make out in the darkness, she wasn't too bad to look at either. Of course, he wasn’t the type to be concerned with looks. How could he be, when horrid scars marred his own appearance? He shifted his gaze back to her, taking her in with a kind look. Sooo...Amria. What brings you out in this storm? He felt his curiosity rising as he stood there with her, and he couldn’t help but want to know more of her story. Surely you aren't traveling alone, are you? It was an innocent question, but, at the same time, he was curious to know if she belonged to a herd. She didn't have the reeking scent of another stallion on her, so if she was with one, he hadn't been around her recently. [/blockquote] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
